Slow boot - USB

Today when I booted my 14.3 release PC it was very slow - several minutes.

In particular, there were several boot messages

usb_alloc_device: set address 14 failed (USB_ERR_TIMEOUT, ignored)

I do not think that anything in particular has changed.

Any suggestions as to how to diagnose the issue?

EDIT 1: I shut everything down, turned off the power, turned the power back on and then rebooted and it was back to normal - about 1 minute to boot.

Is that a bluetooth thingy? I don't have anything bluetooth installed.
 
It's most likely a faulty device or connection.

But just to be sure...
Have you tried disconnecting everything connected via USB (memory sticks, harddrives, mice, Wi-Fi/Ethernet dongles) and restarting the machine?
Is this a system you've just installed recently or an older system where everything used to work properly?
Did you change settings in the BIOS/UEFI or recently flashed it?

I installed the system in Jan 2025, so not that recent, and it gets used daily. Nothing has changed that I'm aware of.

There's not much to unplug. Just the keyboard and mouse (connected via a 4 port ugreen KVM hdmi box).
 
Have you tried disabling Bluetooth and/or WLAN/Bluetooth in the UEFI?

Have you tried disconnecting the switch and connecting your keyboard and mouse directly to the computer?
