Greetings,
Currently I have an old legacy process of syncing server logs from cloud servers back to a centralized sever using rsync/ssh. I want to make this pain go away.
In a perfect world since our servers mostly live in EC2, I would love to point all the logs we care about to AWS's CloudWatch Log service. The problem I run into is AWS does not have a FreeBSD script or package to do this, only linux. AWS uses a python script to make this bit happen. I am not much of a coder, just enough to break stuff so I thought I would ask the community the following questions.
1. Has anyone found an alternate way to send FreeBSD logs to AWS's CloudWatch Logs service?
2. If anyone is interested, I have attached the actual python install script to this thread (changed extension to .txt to upload) for you python experts out there. If anyone is interested in taking a stab at modifying the script for BSD, maybe we can work out some compensation.
Thanks for your time,
Cheers,
Lee
