Solved Samsung PM1725b 1.6TB PCIe 8x HHHL card not recognized

Greetings,

I just try to get 2x Samsung PM1725b 1.6TB PCIe 8x cards working on a Supermicro X11SRM-VF using FreeBSD 12 Release.

nvmecontrol devlist said "No NVMe controllers found."

Does anyone have any idea what else to do?

Wonder if it the PCI-PCI bridge is not detected correctly or what.
 
We updated the /usr/share/misc/pci_vendors with a newer version
I attempted to add unsupported Intel Storage Card to pci_vendors but found it was not enough,
I had to also add entries to mrsas driver source.

Maybe NVMe is the same, you now need to add the device to the NVMe driver structure too.
Just a thought.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I have a question:
How well do these perform. I have my eye on a PM1725A and the read speed looks very nice.
5500MB/sec reads and 2100MB/sec write speed on the HHHL PCIe 8X version.
Did you find these numbers accurate?
