Results from the 2025 FreeBSD survey

I'd rather have them use AI tools to generate those simple graphics than wasting donated money or someone's time to create it ...

Ha oldfashioned logo. Not watered down orbs. Was the best on T-Shirts.
Had folk get upset at mine, I'd simply say "Not demon in the Biblical sense, daemon in the Greek sense of helper". Wound up with discussions and "Oh, I never realized...." FBSD for the win.

Ah, perfect opportunity to remind y'all about Linda Branagan and her FreeBSD Daemon 🤣

There was a very charming FreeBSD sys admin who used to be at conferences in a very good looking daemonette costume. Not going to post her name, privacy matters. Photos of her can be found online, search for "FreeBSD daemonette". Never talked to her, but saw her at a few conferences.

5"5", anywhere from 120 to 130
Cute af 👍

P.S. You get to decide whether the line above is sarcasm or not. The answer is: both yes and no.
I'm a passionate advocate for using ternary logic, that way we can avoid failing into paradoxes traps.
無 / む (in the Zen sense) FTW!

BTW, even Patriarch Knuth advocated for it in the Bible: "The Art of Computer Programming", vol2. Soviets were first with Setun, but Party didn't recognize value and went with stealing from IBM and DEC. Canadians had QTC-1, but real hope nowadays is in AI using ternary LLMs.

Ahhh... Annoyed enough to type out commentary, but not annoyed enough to type out working kernel code? 😂
Very few people on these forums are developers (of the OS). What's wrong with me not being one? Besides, I don't think they want to add Java or whatever to the base. I haven't bothered to learn C anyways. Call me a bad programmer, but I just don't need it. I don't want to work with low-level systems stuff. I like to write userland utility programs anyways, and that's what I will keep doing.
