Problems with Diskless

I was used to boot with PXE, but now I have big problems with 14.4 Server booting 15.1

With NFSv3 lockd and statd do not start. The only way I get it is putting in the clients boot/loader.conf the line:

boot.nfsroot.options="nolockd"

With NFSv4 the client does not files with their usernames, it is a disaster.

Has someone experience with recent FreeBSD versions?

Please describe what you use as a PXE server,

I have no problems with my PXE boots.
Do you mount the root with NFSv4 or NFSv3?

What OS run in the server and in the client?
I wrote above what I tried now. With fbsd 10, fbsd 11, OpenBSD in server were no problem.

Do you start statd and lockd with NFSv3? I tried with

rpcbind_enable="YES"
rpc_lockd_enable="YES"
rpc_statd_enable="YES"

in both, server and client. The only way to get it working with NFSv3 is as I wrote above.

I never used NFSv4, I tried now to have locking in the server, but get errors like
"unknown class daemon", "No locks available".

I can mount the exported files in the server, but there seems to be a problem mapping file names and groups between client and server.

You are asking at a non-optimal moment. I took down my PXE cluster with the FreeBSD server for now. The cluster with the Linux server is up.

I can see that with the Linux server I successfully run lockd, and I think with the FreeBSD server, too.

All my numerical userids are the same on my client machines, so I don't need to run a mapper.

root is on NFS3, filesystem are a mix of 3 and 4.

I don't have locking problems on either, but I did have in the past.
