Solved Problems booting after installing 11.0-RELEASE

Hello, I have been struggling booting up FreeBSD after installation. I think it's a part of BIOS problems to detect boot partition of FreeBSD.

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0.

Installation:
  • GPT
  • Entire disk
Tried to boot up in VirtualBox mounting other disk (that FreeBSD is installed in) as a raw disk with UEFI setting and it boots up without the problems.

Thanks.

Firmware related:
are you using BIOS (old) or UEFI (new) to boot your machine?
Are you using the latest version on the firmware for your motherboard?
What boot settings are you using in the firmware?
Does it boot from the boot menu (most firmware, BIOS and UEFI has a boot menu that can be accessed with a key like F8, F12 or another)?

Hello tingo,

I checked my BIOS updates in asus page and found there is latest 2015-07~ update. After updating my BIOS. I tried to boot again with installation memstick but booting got suspended because of UEFI security boot. I turned it off and successfully booted to installation. (GPT - entire disk). After reboot finally noticed a new option "UEFI: OS" and now I managed to boot in fresh FreeBSD installation.

My guess what the problem was:
  • Old BIOS (It was 2013, now 2015-07)
  • UEFI Windows protection boot
Anyway, thanks for the help.
