Does anyone have any success having distcc distributing poudriere jobs on a local network?

Otherwise, what's the best practice to build and sync a custom local repo using several computers? I mostly run experiments either on VM's or mini-pcs which aren't that powerful, and would definitely benefit from idle machines on the network.
