Thanks astyle. It looks like acm@ had nearly got it working, and Odoo.CSC-IOT reported success (after a bit of effort) on 2 Sept. 2024. I was hoping one of them might update us on how things went with 17, if most of the Python dependencies were worked out and in ports/packages. Knowing that 17 is a clean install gives a bit of confidence that 18 might work without too much trouble.
