You are very lucky compared to me (idle at about 50C), chrcol (idle at almost 70C) or lostgeek (Thread audio-glitches-hot-nvme-drive-looking-for-advice-14-0-release.92816, he says his controller operates at 90C)

My zroot is living on Kingston SKC3000S1024G. The idle temp is 30.85 °C

There is some 2nd sensor, though, which reports 65.85 °C, but it's the same under Windows 11, and I'm not alone with this, so it seems OK.

Ok I have it now reporting 0x1 for APST, it was initially 0. Will give it some time to see if the temp goes downwards.

Was no differences in temperature.

I'm experiencing high power consumption from NVMe SSDs on FreeBSD.

I have two (different) NVMe SSDs and tested their power consumption on Linux and FreeBSD with APST disabled. I tested power states from the lowest to the highest, but there was no difference on either OS.

I also compared the power consumption when using one SSD versus two; on Linux, there was a small difference between using one or two SSDs (about less than 1 watt), but on FreeBSD, adding another SSD increased power consumption by about 4 watts. Note that enabling or disabling APST and manual changes to power states did not make any difference.
