I'm a FreeBSD newbie - and have installed it fine, but am having problems getting Xorg to start.

I'm running nvidia 340 (compiled from ports) - I get the Nvidia splash screen, but then it bombs back to the terminal.
I've got some linux modules (?) loaded (although I've removed reference to linux emulation since compiling from ports).
I tried to install the binary package and follow this guide, but with the kernel crashing - https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/howto-setup-xorg-with-nvidias-driver.52311/
