No audio from Logitech S150 USB speakers

When I plug these in, the right speaker's backlit text "Digital" is illuminated, but "mute" and volume icons beneath its three buttons aren't.

Code:

Any aid would be appreciated.

Code:
sysctl hw.snd.default_unit=4
?

Right now its showing HDMI is default.

If that works just edit /etc/sysctl.conf and add the line
Code:
hw.snd.default_unit=4

You're welcome! I've been using FreeBSD since March and that was one of my first questions as well. ?

So now I'm just used to checking on it and it's stuck my brain forever. Lol

I've been using FreeBSD since 2019, and UNIX-like OSes for over twenty years, but I'm a perennial novice -- hence these questions. lol

lol that's funny. I moved over here from Linux after 20 years but things here are a bit different, in a good way. I just have a lot of system I'm moving over and I've gotten to where after setting so many up I've run into this same issue over and over of not setting the sound device. Modern system have so many sound devices in madness. I remember when you only had the one purchased at the store to go in the slot. :D
