Yes I did, but I had to buy a Silicon Image 3132 controller.. They are compatible with port multipliers. I got one that was non-raid and used ZFS to create a raidz pool.. Not only does it work reliably, but I easily get 6-700 mbps throughput with it on my network. One other bit of advice about the SansDigital enclosure. The esata cables they include are junk.. You will want to buy an extra set. I got mine from Cables To Go. The connectors on the cheap cables start to fall apart after a year.
Also, other Silicon Image chipsets will probably work well too. You just need to make sure that the chipset supports SATA port multipliers.
