New Computer specification?

I bought new computer a year ago.
Nowadays I wanted to upgrade RAM and SSD i.e. double the capacity exactly. It would cost me exactly half of the original price of the whole computer (no OS). The graphics card can't even be bought in my neck of woods anymore (nvidia 5060ti).

So, my condolences. But it is gonna be worse a month from now, it seems.

In my experience, a RAM error is usually followed immediately by a crash or BSOD.

Some parts of Windows intentionally crash if they suspect a RAM error, but there can be silent data corruptions that you cannot detect (i.e. "experience").

This is an old research paper, about DDR1 and DDR2 RAM problems at Google. They explicitly tested only the ECC RAM. They found that many errors are not random cosmic rays, but aging or not perfect DIMM modules. But, also in these cases, the errors are constant but rare (yearly/monthly/weekly). So, with ECC you can fix them, and maybe change error-prone DIMM modules, but not with a memtest. Memtest can only find defective DIMM modules, not the slightly imperfect one. And also the perfect one, can fail sometime.
