It appears that since we are going to move our ecommerce package off of a hosted plan to our own server, we need to add a firewall in order to meet PCI compliance.
By PCI compliance you mean "The Payment Card Industry"? If yes, I highly doubt there are special firewalls for this type of services. However, the firewall you chose MUST be configured properly for this type of transactions.

PCI compliance does not dictate any special type of firewall. AFAIK if you are only dealing with one server, you could use a host based firewall with PF.
I should have been a little more clear, when I said off of a hosted plan and onto our own server, it is moving it from an outside service like Volusion to a co-located box.
