The above dmesg uses u-boot, same version.

For the record after the patch, eqos0 is not usable anymore. Can't get IP from dhcp. The boot above has a nvme over USB and another nvme on the slot. As was too long, the above dmesg was filtered like this: cat ../dmesg | grep -v umass-sim0.

Removing the nvme from slot, the boot was fine (with nvme the boot fails, usb shows late and I need to point root file system), but eqos0 still unusable. Is the behavior the desired one?

The fixes are easy, but it must be tested on r5s (since they are specific to r5s). You seem to be able to test it, so give me a while (day or so...) to get them ready.

Hi, thanks for the support. I can test this this week. I will wait for you to finish.

If is of any help, yesterday I tested OpenBSD 7.5 and 7.6, and both work fine using FreeBSD u-boot code. The R5S is right now in my home at iperf test since last night. Both realtek NIC's are working.

I don't have the kmod for realtek installed. the regular one, nor the 198 version. Should I?

Nice, both network cards are found:

So yes, PCIe is working now, but the drivers are missing.
Can you post a detailed PCIe dump?

The regular driver (if_re) works, but probably doesn't support your card. Unfortunately I have zero experience with the one from ports, but anyway the pcie dump from above will give us exact versions of the chips...

So both NIC chips are RTL8125. realtek-re-kmod198 is supposed to handle it and I can confirm that it can be compiled on current. But I have no way to test its functionality. Try it, if you are lucky pkg install net/realtek-re-kmod198 may work, otherwise you will need a compile it on the target platform.

can you please resend pciconf -lBbcevV, just in case. I just want to check the PCIe link parameters.
The if_re driver has a serious locking problem, but this should not affect network performance. iperf reports suboptimal results,
I have at least ~700Mb on all my arm64 SCBs (including old RockPro RK3399), so it's to be expected that the CPU is not running at full speed.

Maybe 'sysctl dev.cpu.0.freq=9999' will help, but I just found out that this sysctl have some problem when displaying the actual cpu frequency.
