Music…

Oh, yes indeed. One of my personal ZZ Top's favorites, too! And frankly I was really haggling with myself, to put it also in the list, BUT...
The list should not become too long. Who's going to listen to a >two hour playlist done by somebody else? Nobody.
My intension was not primarily to give you all the good songs from the 80s and 90 - that could come easily roughly estimated to over 400 songs, which definitely was a PL you guys would say, 'He's nuts' - and were right about that - and particulary not doing a "ZZ Top's only concert", which I could do. Also possible with Depeche Mode, some may recognized.
I also want to give you some good rendering of well known pieces, if I know such, not always only the official radio/MTV version. That's why I linked for "Sharp Dressed Man" a newer version, with replacement for the alas passed away Dusty Hill. (Why Frank Beard did not play the drums in that one, I don't know.) Anyway a very good version of that classic. And that's why I also gave you "Thunderstruck" not in the original AC/DC version, but by 2Cellos.
That thing shall be more kind of impulses, not to serve you only reheated chewed for only.
Anyway, I also thought to add e.g.
Paul Hardcastle "Nineteen" (which, I just saw, seems to be also censored like the Beasty Boys "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" which I needed to take out again, because this useless and annoying only *BEEP* BS really get on my nervers. 😤) or
Karel Fialka "Hey Matthew"
and I could name many others.
But this may give you a clue what also my intension was to take you into this "time machine".

RUSH is going to go back on tour in 2026/2027 if you are (ALSO) a RUSH fan

(Previously) the RUSH original drummer Niel Peart passed died and the band disbanded. But they have a new ! WEST GERMAN ! girl drummer (Link Wikipedia): Anika Nilles now and they are going to go back on tour again.

The new RUSH 2026/2027 tour is set to begin on June 7, 2026 ( TODAY ! -- in States ) in Inglewood, California, and conclude in Helsinki, Finland on April 10, 2027. (Link Wikipedia): Fifty Something Tour

Never heard of Rush before

That is sad...

They are a Canadian band with an American Drummer (now deceased) and now have a West German drummer.

Here are are some RUSH songs you can reference:
  1. Tom Sawyer - (Link Youtube): Rush - Tom Sawyer
  2. Spirit of Radio - (Link Youtube): Rush - The Spirit Of Radio
  3. Free Will - (Link YouTube): Rush - Freewill (Audio)
The Good News ! Is that all of the citizens of Germany will now get to "see and hear" RUSH in concert in 2027 ! (maybe... for the first time?)

I started listening to these guys around about 1981-2... I had a girlfriend who used to listen to "one nation under a groove" which got me into the funkies...

Around the same time in the UK, Steve Hillage was being influenced by Funkadelic, resulting in songs like this little masterpiece... another great bassline.
At the time this was quite an unexpected combination of English 'prog' and US funk sounds. Malcolm Cecil who worked with Stevie Wonder was a central figure in making this fusion happen.

There was a lot of mid-atlantic musical cross-fertilisation going on around that time...
