Most reliable PROXY/Sock5 software for FreeBSD. Which to choose?

Hello!

Never been maintaining PROXY servers before on FreeBSD. Which to choose for private (corporate) proxy in 2025?
Need to use Socks5? Which is most secure in 2025? More reliable?
 
It would probably help to explain the scenario that needs this proxy... IOW the exact reason for using one, what should it achieve, what should it protect against, etc.
