Solved manpage install in the same place - general question

This problem happens offen. Now it is in security/gnupg and security/gnupg1. Is there no way to do anything against it? Something like a check, if such file exists, and if rename it?

(By the way: a user in IRC will post it to the maintainer).

Some packages/ports simply cannot co-exist. Install time renaming is only part of the issue. What if it's a library, how would something that depended on that library know it was renamed?

Libraries and manpages are something different. But's it's annoying if update scripts stop caused by such simple things. And you have to rename the manpage or the man directory in the pkg-plist and copy the manpage.tar.gz in the /usr/port/something/work/stage/man/manX to another man directory.

I think a simple solution were, to make in each port a doc option (if it doesn't work - to off), or only in the ports, you can guess it could conflict - like gnupg/gnupg1.
