KDE 6 not unlocking

A couple of times recently I've been unable to unlock my screen after it locks due to inactivity.

I can type my password, but hitting enter does nothing.

Strangely I can login as another user (which just seems to start a new session).

This is with 14.2-RELEASE on amd64.

Maybe related to Wayland.
You can select default sddm session to plasma-x11 instead of plasma-wayland.
When I'm on a plasma-wayland session, screen gets locked when idle, a workaround is to restart sddm service from TTY2

If KDE 6 uses x11/xlockmore, then try reinstalling x11/xlockmore from ports (not pkg because the default options apparently doesn't do passwords correctly), after selecting these xautolock port build options:
  • BAD_PAM
  • PAM
For years, only BAD_PAM was needed, but somewhere in 14.X, the PAM option also needs to be selected, or it doesn't work. Hope this helps..

EDIT: Sorry, I originally posted that the port where the build options needed to be set was x11/xautolock, but the correct port name is x11/xlockmore.

I don't have x11/xautolock installed.

The problem is intermittent, just 2 times so far. The keyboard seems to work (I see the masked characters appearing) but hitting enter does nothing. I tried the virtual keyboard as well. No problem starting a new session or connecting by ssh.
