Is there a way to detect each dhcp lease renewal and run a script, perhaps through devd, or anything else for that matter.

I am seeking a way to perform some scripted actions whenever dhcp renews a lease. I have searched devd references in vain for it. And I have no better ideas for doing it at this time. Am I just missing something here, or is there really no way to capture this event? Somehow it seems that if CARP actions can be captured by devd, dhcp actions should be amenable to that detection as well. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

AHA! It appears that dhclient-script may just be what I am after. I will have to go think about this for a while, but it sure looks promising. One of these days I will get familiar enough with this thing to find these more nearly "on my own". In the meantime, I do very much appreciate those of you who bear with my inexperience with FreeBSD and point me in the right direction. I have been through a bunch of other operating systems, but I am a recent convert to this one. Thanks, again.
