Is it a tedious process for the FreeBSD team to code a new driver?

Hello! I have an RTL8723BE Realtek wireless chip in my laptop, but I learned today that there are no FreeBSD drivers compatible with this.

Is the FreeBSD team considering making a driver for this chip set? Or is it a tedious process to support other hardware? Thanks!
 
Realtek stuff is quite crappy.
No much sense in writing drivers for that.
(Realtek provides drivers themselves, anyway)
