Intel Celeron N3050 laptop, a good idea to install FreeBSD?

Mostly depends on how much RAM you have and what software you run.

You just have to try it.

You can achieve quite a lean system with FreeBSD, installing packages selectively and running only the services that you need; it is very easy and straight forward with /etc/rc.conf.

If you are using it for working in a browser with Java, for video editing, for 3D, etc., then it is not the best solution.
