I'm looking to install version 7.8.3-2 of rocksdb. In the ports tree, the Makefile for rocksdb currently specifies PORTVERSION=8.5.4 on my machine. Is it possible to specify a different version to build and install using ports?
It is possible, but you have to make local changes to the ports tree. Would you dare to do it?
In short, create a directory databases/rocksdb7 and put the content of databases/rocksdb when it was 7.8.3_2. Then, build the port databases/rocksdb7.
