I'm a follower of fashion,

I am browsing forum using new posts feature and after several months of self-restrain I have to say that I find out really annoying to open new post page and almost always have 20+ % of new posts filled with your off-topic shit posting. Sorry for my French, OMMV. If there is setting for ignoring this forum section in new posts, I am all ears, even if I can miss some interesting discussions, but this isn't bearable for me any more.

The forum has a killfile.

I hope but didn't try that it kills threads started by the offending person entirely.

It does. I just tried it by ignoring/unignoring Alain.

Personally, I find Alain De Vos 's threads very entertaining. A forum needs someone like him. And also needs users to be a little more knowledgeable about its features before insulting another person who is merely very productive. Users can't be worried of posting because someone is going to complain that they post too much.

Thanks to Alain De Vos , other users like me see that it's okay to post and the forum stays somewhat alive (somewhat).

While any good forums need some off-topic chit-chat to keep an authentic community alive,
everybody is asked to be disciplined enough not to let the off-topic stuff become inflationary.

I have a theory. I think that the inquisitor did know that they could "ignore" Alain De Vos, but, at the same time, they don't want to do it because Alain De Vos's technical comments are not to miss, so the resulting frustration of reality not being exactly like they desire brought about what it brought about.

Alain has introduced me to a bunch of different programming languages that I didn't even know existed, and posted example code showing how to program in them. And the rest is entertaining too. Good stuff. 😁
