I used i3 years ago on Arch Linux and loved it. I rediscovered it lately, and it's perfect on FreeBSD.
From my (old) notes -- I used to run xfce-power-manager to give myself convenient control of settings. But in FreeBSD, I enabled powerd and the kernel seems to do fine with suspend and lid closes, so is there any benefit?
