Totally different usage pattern. My FreeBSD and Linux systems at home are hardly ever "started", in the sense of booting the OS. That only happens when (a) there is a power outage and I intentionally turn the generators etc. off, or (b) they need hardware maintenance (which is very rare), or (c) I upgrade the OS.Usually, when I start FreeBSD, I check for updates. I use three systems simultaneously. And usually, when I start one of them, I check for new updates.
