Help with Intel 8265 AC card?

It might be worth checking the edge connector, or the antenna cable connectors. I wonder if it's a dodgy connector or cable. Your ping times to your router seem extremely long (~2 secs!) compared to what I'm seeing here. I'm assuming that other wifi devices connected to that router work ok, ie its not the router itself that's the problem.
 
If you want higher speed like 11ac on Intel wireless NICs, you'll need newer, AX series of chipsets.

Supported chipsets byif_iwlwifi and if_iwm partially overwraps, and many of overwrapped generations of chipsets work fine on both, with some exceptions like mine (Wireless-AC 9560 160MHz, looks working fine for revisions or lots other than mine, though, mine works unreliably on if_iwlwifi).

On such "overwrapped" chipsets, there wouldn't be any advantages with if_iwlwifi for now (if I recall / understand correctly, supports for 11AC and maybe 11N, too, are implemented only for AX series of chipsets or later).

FWIW, my home router is using DD-WRT, and is AC-rated, as well (AC-1900), worked for many years, I have no intention of replacing it...
