Halloween message

Well, it is the halloween thread...

And now the boring bit.

Intel (INTC) fell about 23% in after-hours trading Thursday. Its third-quarter results showed an extraordinary split between its PC and data-center businesses:

Intel businessQ3 revenueYear-over-year change
Client Computing and Physical AI$8.1 billion−5%
Data Center and AI$7.3 billion+78%
On the earnings call, CEO Lip-Bu Tan said customers were signaling a PC slowdown because of memory prices and availability. Higher computer prices were squeezing IT budgets, and PC makers were cutting inventory as sales softened.

Intel expects industry PC unit sales to fall about 12% this year and another 10% in 2027. AI demand is also reshaping its own factories: the company plans to redirect some Oregon capacity previously intended for PC chips toward data-center production.
When Intel proposed years ago their commitment to DEI, that should have been clear signal to sell.

Glomar!

Not a fan of Moggy - can't fault his reasoning but at the same time "reasonable analysis" in unreasonable times is not particularly meaningful. We just don't know how things will turn out as AI is much more of a wildcard that the Internet ever was. Yes, there will be a crash but unknown how or when we will come out of it and how much better or worse.

Was that the outlaw billy gaetz at the microsoft trials?
CIA...and Israel...MI5/6.... and SEC etc. standard policy.
This approach is known as a Glomar response (or Glomarization), a policy where an entity responds to inquiries by stating it can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the information requested.

The term originates from 1975 when the CIA used this phrase to avoid confirming or denying the existence of the Glomar Explorer project, which sought to salvage a sunken Soviet submarine.

There is better policy, common in Communist Czechoslovakia:
Deny, deny, deny.
And if you get caught, ....deny some more.

Yeah I don't usually watch his videos but that one caught my eye, since I was aware he has been a practicising fund manager with quite large amounts under management (billions), so he is 'in the trade', so to speak. It's not like listening to the opinions of joe bloggs down the pub, it's a fairly safe assumption that he has at least got some idea of what he is talking about. I'm pretty sure he knows more about investing than I do, anyway. 😁

Of course by the time this kind of message goes out on a public channel like youtube, the goose is already totally cooked. The time to get in was 2 or 3 years ago, and the time to get out has probably already passed.

Warren Buffet is in CASH.
Traders I trust say nothing makes sense.
Family friend, now retired very high ranking fund manager from Scandinavia says the best way to make money is to manage other's.
And that his best investment was to ferries to Estonia. Cargo loads itself, pays for ungodly amounts of drinks and sometimes even unloads itself.

My best investment was in ammunition. It does not spoil and it doubled in price. Sadly I have just the lawful limit and can't sell it on ebay.

Musk is right. Future is in space. Namely asteroid mining. For that you need Ai-Robotics and rockets of course. Otherwise Ai just shuffles emails and helps to make ideas which are like azzholes - everyone has at least one.
FSD or rather CyberCab and cyberbus and cyberlorry, will be bigger disruption to economy (many men default to driving) than chatbots or even coders.

Invest in Robots, gentlemen.
