Solved GRUB2 does not show FreeBSD...

Hi guys!

Although Debian's update-grub and os-prober recognizes FreeBSD, it doesn't show on GRUB so I can hit to enter the new install...

What can I do to solve?

tia!

Again...

This is what I get with os-prober and update-grub:
Code:
# os-prober

/dev/sda6:unknown Linux distribution:Linux:linux

# update-grub
Generating grub.cfg ...
Found background image: /usr/share/images/desktop-base/desktop-grub.png

Found unknown Linux distribution on /dev/sda6
done

TIA!

I need to use my new installation...

I have a page on grub2 that includes booting FreeBSD.

http://srobb.net/grub2.html

Just do a search for FreeBSD on the page. In short, you'll make a custom.cfg to go under /boot/grub/ (or /boot/grub2 in RH based systems) and add a FreeBSD stanza there.

Heh, I see a moderator added file tags. I thought they were only for FreeBSD files, but I'll keep that in mind for the future.

aAgain and thx 4thanks for the patience...

I just installed fFreeBSD 11-CURRENT before my new LMDE2 installation and nothing, same as with Debian...

At least could you give an example how to make a custom.cfg...

I have to say that didn't /boot partition on fFreeBSD!

scottro's article explains it all and it contains multiple examples of what you should put into custom.cfg. If it doesn't exist just create it, make sure that you've selected the correct partition, and remember to run update-grub afterwards.
