gnome-terminal working directory

Hi, I'm on 7-STABLE running the latest GNOME 2.26.3, and I have a small problem with gnome-terminal. When I first open the Terminal window, its working directory is my home directory as it should be. However, if I open a new tab within that window the working directory is the root of the filesystem. This was introduced with 2.26, and I was hoping it would vanish with the point updates. A small annoyance, I know, but I'd like to fix it if possible.

BTW, I don't understand the explanation as this is not happening opening a 2nd (and next) new terminal from the menu.

Ah, well I can deal with it if it's there for a reason. I assumed it was a regression. Thanks
