Hello i I have just tried to start gnome and i I get the following error message:

 gnome-session-binary[1618]: WARNING: Software acceleration check failed: Child process exited with code 1

That means there's an issue with 2D/3D acceleration, you may want to check if you're using the proper video driver. Gnome 3 appears to lean heavily on accelerated graphics.
