Blender 4.2.0 can't be compiled with ffmpeg 8.
You can compile 4.5.5 from ports with this patch

For completeness the above ffmpeg lib dependency is what is failing with FreeCAD as well.

Or wait it out. The quarterly repository will be updated with them once fixed.

If you use ZFS you can rollback and keep track of the package fallout. Then upgrade when packages are fixed.

You will probably broke something else by using a lower version of ffmpeg.
Having some patience like wrote Phishfry ist not a bad idea.

If you want to go to the adventure read the link posted by bda65, blender 4.5 or 5.0 will compile with newer version of ffmpeg.
