The bigger issue that the Core Team doesn't care to put forth issues like this. When stuff like this is trivialized over say, unnecessary changes to the CoC - you know something is wrong.
I do feel a sense of complacency and relunctancy to advocate needed changes like this. Hell, even the website is an atrocity - still.
