FreeBSD 15 - iwm wifi - hello 2005 speeds...

It is unfortunate that OP has this sort of issues. i had none of it and with the same card ( are there any revisions of it i wonder ? ) and iwx driver. To give more information about my setup - i have only 2 changes: blocklist of if_iwlwifi and if_iwm. i preload firmware for ax 210 in /boot/loader.conf. while this is not supported as said by iwx driver developer this working really well and should supported in my opinion.

I *think* the only solution would be to change the card--of course it's Lenovo so they blacklist some cards--I've forgotten the details and it may no longer even be true, but at least at one point if you put a different card in a Lenovo it might not work unless you did something with the firmware or BIOS or something. For my use, it plays videos on youtube quickly enough. It's a bit of a pain transferring large files, but I don't have too many big files to transfer. Kind of a first world problem in a way, as practically speaking, at worst, it's only a slight nuisance--again, for my use case, might be a serious problem for other use cases.
Yes, it's usable for "casual" use, indeed it becomes pain if you depend on networked files (ie NAS), upgrades, or doing ZFS send/receive.
I guess indeed the best to do is to run behind an AX210 which is known to be supported, since they're cheap (I got mine directly from China).
Our community will soon cause a major shortage of these cards lol !
I don't know at all about Lenovo blacklisting wifi cards, I don't remember who talked about this on the forum. For my concern, I had no problem.

Just upgraded my Lenovo x270 to an Intel AX210NGW, after installing the firmware package wifi-firmware-iwlwifi-kmod-ax210-20241017.1403000_2 Firmware modules for the iwlwifi (ax210) WiFi NIC driver the card just works. Tested with my home wifi and my iphone. :)

Code:

Thank you to Tom Jones and the FreeBSD Foundation for making this possible!:)
