etcupdate equivalent of mergemaster -i

I'm happy user of mergemaster for >20 years, I know it's time to switch to etcupdate.
But tin the man page, I can't see an equivalent to "-i" flag, which gives me control on what is or should not be updated

It's not?

       -i	   Automatically  install  any	files that do not exist	in the
		   destination directory.

Mergemaster didn't have an interactive mode, which I presume is what you were looking for?

Yes, I was looking for an interactive mode, I was confused. mergemaster is ALWAYS interactive
