I'm on FreeBSD14.1 and I have noticed that the emacs-devel pkg is built with pgtk. So it shows a warning every time I use it on gnome. This warning is real and I have experienced the problems it describes on other platforms (Linux and WSL).
Would it be possible to compile the emacs-devel package against X and GTK and create a specific pkg (emacs-devel-pgtk, for example). This could then, in the future, be continued with the emacs pkg.
