DRM issues

I cannot play videos on some sites. I understand this to be a DRM issue. This seems to happen with every browser I have tried. I can find no browser settings to get past this.
The browser I am trying to use is called waterfox, it uses the firefox engine. I am trying to play videos on a site called kanopy.com. The error I get is "Key system is unsupported."
 
Out of the box, none of the browsers shipped on FreeBSD support DRM playback.
There are options to have it working:
  • Linux shim (chromium only)
  • Container based install (can be adapted to any linux browser that supports drm)
  • Compile openwidevine (for chromium and firefox based native browsers)
