Solved detailed explanation of package filename

When, for example, I do a pkg install perl5, I find that there is a file called /var/cache/pkg/perl5-5.18.4_11-c37b9c525b.txz

I guess the 5 is the major version number, 18 is the minor version number, 4 is some sort of micro version number, but what's that 11 doing in there? A nano version number? And what's the c37b9c525b? Is that some sort of unique commit identification? Does it always begin with c?

Thanks, that explains the _11 part; it's referred to as PORTEPOCH in the Porter's Handbook. But what about the c37b9c525b part?

I don’t know the pkg(8) internals, but it looks like a hash that could be used to compare locally cached and remote repository packages.
