Delay in posting comments

For a number of weeks, and unrelated to the recent DDOS attack, when I post a reply in a thread there are three rotating vertical lines on the top right of the page and a delay of up to 30 seconds before my reply is posted. Could this be an issue with my chromium install, some OS or browser setting or with the forum itself? Am I the only one?

Even before the DDoS the forums regularly got hammered, backend database gets somewhat overloaded causing the whole site to respond slow. Especially if you're trying to post something. Should be fine now, but it tends to come in waves.

Though admittedly, things still feel somewhat sluggish now. Browsing seems to be fine, posting however feels slower than usual.

Yeah, same here. I had a post that I accidentally posted twice. My initial thought was that something was up on my end. But all in all, an interesting learning experience for me.

I've double posted too, but mostly OK.'

EDIT: It took 11 seconds (timed with going 1, one thousand, two one thousand, etc.) with three lines on upper right on waterfox, using Spectrum in Manhattan as ISP.

FYI:
What I've experienced the day before yesterday was like below (sorry, no screenshot was taken, so not 100% precise).
  1. Wrote comment for response to other user.
  2. Timeout error was shown by forums (not by firefox, if I recall correctly).
  3. Went backward, and saw nothing posted by me and no draft could be seen.
  4. Reloaded the page to confirm there are any new posts there.
  5. Caused doubled post.
  6. Cannot delete the post, so edited the 2nd one with single ".".

We'll add an AI module.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh That was a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The scary admin has a sense of humor! I'm flabbergasted.

Anyway, things have taken a turn for the worse, I'm afraid. Now you click post and you have actually posted but the page doesn't reload. You reload manually and the post is there.

Or maybe it happens only when you edit.

Nope: sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. In any case, the forums are functional.

Anubis IS actually an AI module... as per the description on the upstream project's website... oh, and it's in Ports, too, so anyone can play with their own copy on their own machine.
😩
😂

Checking for myself. Last time I did have the delay and three bars in the upper right.

EDIT: I did see the what seemed like 1 bar for a brief moment, but this time, I also had no discernible delay.
