Can't set the time zone (KDE 6)

After upgrading to KDE 6, my time zone is stuck at UTC. The configuration window opens, I can select a time zone, but it is not applied and immediately reverts back to UTC. WTF?

After upgrading to KDE 6, my time zone is stuck at UTC. The configuration window opens, I can select a time zone, but it is not applied and immediately reverts back to UTC. WTF?

run systemsettings as root. This should allow you to adjust the timezone. BTW, that was fixed in Plasma 6.3.4.

It was easier to run tzsetup as root and set the time zone there.
