Can we please have a forum for LLMs/AI topics?

I think bakul means something like there already is with "System Hardware", "Embedded", or "Off-Topic", etc. which are also called forums.

Apart from not knowing if this would open pandoras box - at the end, the Administrators, Moderators and maybe others from official FreeBSD side need to decide, what they can handle, and if they want it at all anyway (there already are AI own forums outside FreeBSD world, even places where AI can talk to AI [I appreciate that. Since all what computers have to say I'm interested in can be found under /var/log/, so that way they don't bother me with their outpourings.]),
I'm pro this idea, if that includes a ban of AI postings in all other forums.
There may be FreeBSD related things about AI to discuss, e.g. how to install ollama on FreeBSD. But what's not needed are things like "AI is so great, it really can help you, so we must use it everywhere for everything!", "AI gave me this, but it doesn't work. Please correct it for me!", "Hey, look at this fancy picture/text/code/[ ] AI produced!", "I asked ChatGPT your question. I copy-paste its answer here." ... nowhere else outside AI forums.

It does seem like a major topic of interest to many, to warrant its own forum.
Might be a good idea indeed.

That might be off topic as it's not a FreeBSD issue directly.
Really? So this doesn't exist? misc/claude-code, or misc/ollama, or misc/comfyui?

And it wouldn't be a forum. This whole place is a forum
Actually, every section is a forum on its own, this place is called "forums" (plural) for a reason.

All of you are wrong, the OP what mean to say is, "replace xenforo or whatever the forum is it,for an AI framework" and "all use blue jeans, why not us too?"

I believe we call them a subforum for a reason.
You can believe whatever you want, doesn't make it true though.

Slapping all AI related stuff in it's own subforum doesn't solve the "seeping" problem and creates a new problem of encouraging AI posting. Considering the project has disallowed most LLM contributions, it seems reasonable to not encourage non-specific AI usage here. Current discussion seems to fit in existing topics.

THIS! And as you said: Including all posts that go "that Chatbot told me to do X and Y" and those exhaustingly long and generic slop-summaries with information density lower than any marketing babble...

Slop copy and pasting shouldn't be allowed in a dedicated AI subforum either. We have serious business to discuss.

Any suggestions for the forum's title? Will probably add this in the "Server and Network" category but need a short and clear title, it's quite a broad topic.

And yes, this won't be a section for "AI told me this, is that correct" type of question, it'll be about configuring and setting up of various AI related ports/packages. Generic AI topics/rants/whatever can stay in "offtopic".

How about "Artificial Intelligence" under Miscellaneous? Machine Learning is a subset of AI. LLM is a particular way of doing AI. There is also the old fashioned AI (expert systems and such)!

I vote for this because many AI related discussions are a form of off-topic or not completely specific to FreeBSD management/usage.

At the same time, it is a trending argument that can affect the interaction with an OS, its user base, security aspects, and so on. Isolated in a specific section, allows to reduce the stress for who is annoyed by the related hype.
