bugs.freebsd.org doesn't like protonmail?

I'm migrating my accounts from gmail and I generally want to use a protonmail address. So I did the dance on bugs.freebsd.org and got the notification on my gmail account but I never received the email at my protonmail address that I needed to answer to confirm the change. I did it twice, second time using cut and paste on the address, just to be sure. No dice. I then used a third (non-protonmail) address and everything worked fine. Trouble is, that's not an address I check very often, so it's unsuitable for this. I went looking for a place to ask what's up and found nothing. So I ended up here. So I have a few questions that someone might have an answer for. First, is there a better place for this issue? Second, does bugs.freebsd.org not allow protonmail addresses? Third, if it doesn't, is there a place where I could have discovered this? Fourth, if it does, where might I report the problem? Fifth, am I likely to have a similar issue on other freebsd.org sites (like this one)?

Tip: if you are in a hurry, never use email. the only guarantee with email is that if it is not delivered in seven days, the delivery fails...
(people have been accustomed to "instantly everything" on the internet - they forget that the email protocols are old, and haven't changed that much over the years)

You are aware that to post to bugs.freebsd.org, you have no choice but to sign up via email? And that to change your email address for it, you must use email? And, while it might not be relevant, I managed email servers for a couple of decades before I retired; I don't need email tips from internet randos. And, BTW, there is no guarantee of a delivery fail after 7 days. Or any other period.
