Solved Boot Splash Screen

Im still not getting the boot splash screen on startup even with all of the options set correectly in rc.conf and loader.conf. What else am I missing?

heres my /boot/loader.conf...

splash_bmp_load="YES"
bitmap_load="YES"
bitmap_name="daemon.bmp"
and

splash_changer_enable="YES"
is in my /etc/rc.conf
what am I missing?

rc_startmsgs=NO
