Solved Amule won't run on FreeBSD-13.1-RELEASE because "segmentation fault" error.

Same boat here.

To save myself future headaches, I no longer use aMule anymore. I'm now using MLDonkey (aka: "mlnet") to connect to the ED2K and Kad networks. The user interface is terrible, outdated, and just counter-intuitive, but at least searches and downloads work fine, even after long periods of usage.

At this point it seems aMule on FreeBSD is a lost cause. :(

EDIT: To be clear, aMule on FreeBSD can still "work", but sometimes it's unreliable when trying to run searches and downloads (as mentioned by another member). Besides, even after you get it to "work", it might soon break again from an update to a package/library or the OS.

In another thread it was suggested to compile the amule port with the BOOST option - this fixed it for me. I had another problem with the GUI's tabs being greyed-out, but that was easily worked around by disabling "Minimize to Tray Icon". It's been working well for me for more than a week now.
