AMD Based FreeBSD Desktop Reloaded

My case computer is based on the same board but I'm using the 5600x and RTX 3050 LP. :)

Oh I've also got a blower fan on mine because it's such a tight fit.

144hz 1080p, 3050 4GB, cherry MX brown keys, 500w pure sine wave inverter, 10ah LifePO4, Flex 500w PSU, 16GB DDR4, magnetic top, and a gaming mouse in a little cubby hole. :D

Hey vermaden - great read!

Many years ago I wrote a small piece of assembler for Amiga that plays a sampled sound when you press a key. It took some minutes to write and then I spent a couple of evenings sampling my oldest son, at the time a few years old, saying the alphabet, letter for letter.

These days my grandchild, a couple of years now, has had alot of fun pressing those keys hearing his uncles baby voice saying "A", "B", "C" ... It's heartwarming in so many ways and I wish all grandparents to have the same.

I installed all WiFi firmware and stuff - but as I have the LAN cable there - no need for WiFi - but good to konw that it also works on FreeBSD :)

I owned AMIGA 600 in the past ... but I was playing Sensible World of Soccer on it instead of doing anything useful ... edited icons ... wrote some shit (all lost) in EMACS ... things like that ... played as a kid generally. To this very day Sensible World of Soccer on AMIGA 600 holds my record for non-stop gaming ... 26 hours straight during some summer :]

... and yes - I agree with these 'moments' You mentioned - I also like to have such moments in my life.

Yes the wifi on that board is supported which is handy for my use since it's a desktop in a case. 😁 But I also have lots of io on the side near the side and rear 35mm cooling fans. So I can still use some lan and external monitor and audio and USB and stuff. But everything in that board works great and in using the nvme gen 4 slot for a 512GB Gen4 nvme disk. It's a super board I'm sure your ultra powerful GPU is fun too.
