alsa-tools/envy24control

Ok, envy24control is not mentioned in sound. So it's not been ported as part of the audio/alsa-utils? I do have the envy24 driver loaded in kld_list. The sound card is working but only on 2 channels rather than the available 8 stereo channels. I was hoping that envy24control had been ported over with alsa.

Unfortunately virtual_oss doesn't provide the functionality of the multi channel recording inputs access provided by the envy24control program. The original driver disc for the Delta 1010LT included a program to control the inputs as well but this is not possible using wine obviously. I guess I will have to use my friend Glenn MacArthur's AV Linux for the job due to the hardware issue. This is the first time that I've found a hard software limitation on FreeBSD. If anyone is aware of some alternative for using this hardware please let me know. I would much prefer to use FreeBSD for this audio project. Thanks
in advance!

EDIT: AV Linux is loaded down with audio/video/web/graphic and even wine staging. >:( Just FYI for anyone who was curious. It's going to take ages to remove this stuff.

EDIT 2: Yeah.. Never mind with AV Linux, can't recommend. Nope nope nope. Sorry Glenn.

EDIT 3: I'm back to square one. So, if anyone has any ideas on how I can access all the channels on the sound card I would appreciate it.

If anyone can offer assistance on the multi input for the envy24 driver that'll be most appreciated.

But for now I've put together an Intel socket 478 system with winxp and the kind support at n-track helped me recover my license I purchased in 2004. So the delta will be running on some old tech.
