.au contribution to the early Unix development is often neglected, but I recon your guys did it only because you have such a nice pets, but rest of them animals are deadliest ever. I recon, it makes a mind sharp and a kind enough to be a Unix dev 😉

The kangaroos are wild, but, on the edge of town, are not as scared of people as they should be. They come in through the hole in the fence to graze and rest. I opened the fence, as it saves me mowing the lawn.

I have at least half a dozen large huntsman spiders, which are commonly confused with tarantulas, in my farm truck. They tend to live in the cavities between the doors and car body, but do drop down from the sun visors occasionally. Happily they are harmless.

although having one drop down into the field of view from a sun visor can cause some distraction when driving.
I'd have a proper heart attack. I absolutely hate spiders, anything above a 2 cm span and I'm going to burn the whole house down to the ground. Yeah, yeah, they're harmless. Yeah, sure, they're more afraid of me than me of them. Still going to take a flamethrower to it.

It would be the surprise moment. I respect spiders, they can be pretty nasty (even below 2cm). But fear? Not really. Didn't encounter one that was not OK with being brought outside with a glass and pice of cardboard.

Black widow or brown recluse is quite small (compared to a proper huntsman every spider is small), but they're both quite potent. None of the spiders in the Netherlands are venomous (or really big). The Zoropsis spinimana (Dutch name: valse wolfspin; "false wolf spider") seems to settle here more and more though. Its bite is akin to a bee sting, not pleasant, but not lethal. Unless you happen to be allergic. I live in an old house (almost 100 years old), there's probably spiders everywhere, but as long as I don't see them I'm fine. Every now and then (especially during autumn) they'll start wondering around though.

Talking about whiskeys and whiskies I'm a sort of a late bloomer in that regard. I thought that I can't stand any of them, no drink was making me sick like Jack Daniel's, so I was sticking with rakia, vodka, tequila or cognac. Only about age of 30 friend introduced me to Jameson, and I was surprised that not only I liked it a lot, but also could stand considerable amounts of it without any adverse effects. Being nerd and loving to know all there is about my poisons I educated myself about it, and whole new world opened for me.

Turned out, what I don't like and my body violently refuses are Bourbon's. IDK why, and it wasn't important because since I learned about Islay whisky and their beautiful smoky flavor, I'll have that or Irish whiskey.

BTW, word "whiskey" is Irish, to quote Wikipedia:

I for one am thankful to the Gaelic people for this great gift to the world 🙏
I cant stand Jameson, its really disgusting , moonshine is way better and if we talk about moonshine - proper, clean moonshine gives you 0 problems next day even if you mix it with other alcoholic drinks. I remember having a moonshine but not clear, but brownish - whiskey, cognac color - it was awesome!
Cognac is really nice, but im kinda stopped drinking and in the past - i always had bottle of Cognac.

For me, it's vodka - if I have any, it's a guaranteed hangover the next day. Any other booze (whiskey, rum, moonshine (like Okolehao or Hawaiian Honey Moonshine)), even cognac), even when mixed with something else - zero problems later on. I can have a screwdriver or a Bloody Mary, but if those are based on vodka rather than gin - I kind of have to limit myself to just one for the night, otherwise I know a hangover is coming.

SirDice seems to suffer like my wife from arachnophobia. According to ICD that's an anxiety disorder.
It does no harm, as long as there are no spiders in sight which causes stress.
However, you cannot cure this by reasoning. Neither with exposing somebody to the object of anxiety, "to show how harmless it is" - this will make things only worse.

But you can keep almost all spiders out of your home with insect screens at your windows. I did that primarily to keep out mosquitos - it's very nice when you can let your windows open in summer, keep the lights on, and no annyoing buzzing when you try to sleep.
As a side effect you not only get a lot less flies and other bugs in your home, but also the number of spiders I need to relocate back to nature after my wife screamed has dropped to almost zero.
Especially in this season the spiders crawl into the warm houses.

One of my ex-girlfriends burnt spiders on sight with a can of hairspray and a cigarette lighter. Besides that's a very dangerous stunt, it's a most gruesome death being burnt alive. Please don't do that.
I recommend to get an insect catcher:
Not only you can relocate all bugs (also bees, wasps, hornets, [small] scorpions, what have you) alive back to nature, but you also get no ugly blobs on your walls, and above all don't risk to set your home on fire.

Vodka is a bit different breed. also depend who and how its made, plus - even then - if its better one , it will be diluted with water to make more money. :) ( clubs, bars, pubs ... cough cough )
If i recall - in UK vodka 38% and in Lithuania 40% - same vodka ( it was last time i checked, but it was ages ago ), also some vodka`s are being licensed to manufacture in other countries so maybe this is why it taste differently even if its same Vodka as process and alcohol % is different.

Spiders in my area are mildly annoying if they get inside the house, but on the outside, they are actually welcome - they do keep bee and fly populations in check.

And in Hawaii - geckos are particularly welcome, because they eat cockroaches. Yeah, do your part in keeping the kitchen clean, but also do note the geckos - they look like toys made of very bright green plastic - until you see one run away :D
