Here in Belgium police come to house without warrant.
They took my doggy away.
One must know i walk doggy three times, then my friendly brother does the same.
I will not judge but i feel bad attitude toward me.
Have a nice day.
 
Alain what happened exactly, why did they take the dog and where did they take it to? Did he bite anyone?

Looks well-fed to me 😁 . I guess he has sold his micron shares at the recent top. Clever doggy :-)

I heard he was on his private yacht, somewhere in the Bahamas...

Alain De Vos, it would help if we knew the reason. Most reasons I hear of in the US are neighbors complaining (noise or destruction of neighbor's property) or threat to person or animals. And a lot of that depends on situtation. for example getting loose and killing a cat or biting a child, whereas if a child runs up to the dog there are almost (at least in most cases I've read about) mitigating circumstances.

Regardless it sounds like a really upsetting thing to happen and I hope that you somehow work it out.
 
Is there a dog owners group in Belgium who might be able to help you? In UK there are various dog owners groups.

Dog Owners and Lovers UK https://www.facebook.com/groups/doaluk/

Maybe Belgium has a similar group who can help you get him back? Perhaps you will find some other people have also had their dogs taken by the police, who can advise you on what to do?

I had a 150LB PitBull and it slipped my leash and attacked the neighbors Miniature Poodle in a fight..

I jumped in and had my dog in a headlock and has punching his head as hard as I could to get him to stop fighting.

After dustup we went our separate ways. Neighbor called "Animal Control" on me and I came to door. They wanted to see DOG and tags.

I took them to side yard where fence is waist high and DOG came around. Put his two front paws on the fence. He was a towering dog. Looking at them at eyelevel.

Obviously there were no wounds. His skull is stronger than granite. The COPS left without even inspecting his tags.

Image is everything.
(Meaning that the officers were understanding once they realized the welfare of the dog was OK just an obnoxious Terrier)
 
Part Two: Demise of the demon dog.

On the other side of the Miniature Poodle house was another PitBull. Small Female that even liked the Postman. Good Disposition.

But this Miniature Poodle would bark and bark at her across the chain link fence in the backyard. Much like she did with my dog.
Anytime outside yapping at the neighbors dogs.

Well neighbors 40LB loving Pitbull had this yapper dog come into its yard 5 feet and she literally bit it in the neck and shook the miniature dog.
Released and went back up driveway. All on camera.

Wow imagine the tensions there.... Nothing Animal Control could do. All tags good. Dog on owners property. Calm. Not much they could do.
Very quick death for the yapper. It kinda was a buzz kill for the neighborhood. 85 Year old lady whose dog was constantly out of yard.
Everybody lost that battle.

If my neighbor Kara did not have video the story could have been bad for her. Pitbull fighting a small dog they are automatically at fault. Prove your innocence.
She did. There was no fight only trespass.

Terriers - sh17 for brains and an ego a mile wide... My uncle had one for hunting, that one would try to choke an injured wild boar. Several times. On multiple occasions. The Vet bills were huge.

Alain De Vos Did they leave any paperwork? If not, it is most likely not an official thing and you should consider filing a police report about thieves stealing your dog.

But now in conclusion police wrote in paper i"m vary bad person. Eccuse me for orthograf errors.
 
Lawyer up, seriously. Do you have a rechtsbijstandverzekering (legal expenses insurance)? Because this isn't something that happens overnight. A judge signed off on it.

Yes. It will help you to get a glimpse at the paperwork and see what came before. Maybe a neighbor is grinding an axe, no idea. Or maybe someone in office has a power trip, but it will establish a paper trail. And simply handing over a paper saying "You are bad, no dog for you" is highly suspect. No citing of what law this is based on, it's nothing to roll over for. See if you can at least get something we call a "Rechtsmittelfähigen Bescheid", a written statement citing the regulations and laws this is based upon. Many officials dread to do these, as they will need to sign off on this, possibly proving that they based their decision on wishful thinking. And that is what lawyers can work with. Maybe they do it using ChatGPT, citing non-existing laws or laws from different continents. Been there, had a good laugh with my lawyer about such things.
 
In England we have something called Citizens Advice, where you can go to get some free advice on all kinds of problems:- https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/
They have offices in all the main towns, that you can visit to discuss problems, and it costs nothing. Many of the advisors have some level of legal knowledge, and know how the system works; they are usually volunteers.

Is there a similar organisation in Belgium that could help you? I think you need to get some proper advice, anyway.
 
Here "Animal Control" officers can only impound a dog so long. That after an incident or referral.
Pending investigation and usually you have due rights. No warrant needed or judge but only for so long. Animal Control are cops but in a limited capacity.
Dog fight death investigations take longer. Seizing the animal usually. Sometimes for "Disposal" if violent.
Animal Cruelty charges are common on outlaying farms here. People get old and neglect their farm animals.
Animal Rescue comes in and saves them. They are seized. Just l like the cat and dog hoarders.
Hopefully you have no "Dog at Large" charges. That was a common charge here. Dog off leash in common area.
That was what Animal Control looked at when they visited me. No priors, Tags and shots up to date. They get that info via computer before they even show up.

It will cost you so bear out the (false) investigation but hopefully justice prevails.

Well if you'd give us (or anyone else) some details maybe they could recommend something to do.

I find it hard to believe Belgian police can enter house without a warrant or a probable cause.

Had they any reason to believe the dog was neglected, prior to them coming?

Taken events at the face value, I'd just let it in the media. Here it is enough to post such a case to "national Reddit" as the top tier media in the land is so lazy they will happily c/p from there without even contacting the author.

You or your brother or your dog could've overstepped the regulation somehow, but it shouldn't be binary, you should fight to get your dog back, imagine how he feels being in pound.
 
Ok I caught the bit to read post about police deeming you as bad person.
You should definitely move this from forum to lawyers. Police are there to apply policy not to act as armchair psychologists.

Problem here is the shelters are full. People don't like dodges any more (dodge - a generic dog) they buy certified dog breeds. Everytime I see someone walking a mutt I make sure I give it max love because the poor thing is looking at 5000 euro dogs with clothing on them or some miniature thing being carried in hand (or bag!).
