14.3 garbled sound

Has any fellow BSD'rs found that when using 14.2 the sound is okay, but when upgrading to 14.3 that became a problem. I did not change any hardware, software, etc when upgrading from 14.2 to 14.3, but when using zoom, youtube, or simply listening to my cd's through vlc the sound is there in an echo chamber.
 
I remember when I updated I had a problem with the sound in my chrooted Linux Chrome install. I just needed to update it and the problem went away. There's a good chance you just need to update the software -- I hope it's that simple. Can you give us a little more info about your system please? Desktop Manager: KDE/XFCE? processor: AMD/Intel?
