I think the FreeBSD team should know: I had one problem with the FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE-amd64-dvd1.iso that I downloaded yesterday evening. After I burned the DVD it booted to the (if I got the name correct) VFS:root thingy; the place where Beastie himself can’t dig any deeper.
But lucky for me I had just downloaded the FreeBSD-10.1-RELEASE CD version before the DVD version and it installed perfectly. So I guess I’ll skip the packages thing and just deal with SVN and ports as usual since I have now gained experience with them since 10.0.
Other than the problem I had with the new DVD version, I think FreeBSD finally got a stronger handle on their project but I do see there are a lot of upgrade issues, but they did warn that there may be problems in the release notes. I'm glad that I can use the CD and take it from there since this is new life since 11.0 is working on the super-changes. After that it may be smooth sailing again. I really like 10.1.
